the voyage finally kicks off

Finally ... The Voyage is ready and uploading to the server. This one took a while to get done, and is a not-so-short story, running at over an hour; but I'm pleased with the final result, and as always, Ms. K. did an excellent job reading the tale.

I was awakened this morning at 10 AM -- this is a Sunday after all -- by my good friend Jason, who, in his infinite wisdom, decided to rope me into helping him with some gardening work. As I am not the best first thing without a caffine fix, I groggily agreed and after a couple of mugs of coffee -- that were more suited to be eaten with a spoon than drank -- I staggered a few houses down to see how my legendary skills at landscaping and horticultural knowledge were going to be put to the test (my mother will laugh uproariously at that little white skill-set lie).

a podcast update

A few words to keep you updated on the state of the podcast. While things have been on hold while I indulge in a few weeks of travel, Regina has been busily re-recording The Voyage and is in the middle of her finishing touches to it. So as soon as I get back home, I'll edit, process, splice and dice -- with luck, the second Worlds Abound poscast will hit the ether the week after next.

Fingers crossed ...

when a beginning is definitely not the end

The second worlds abound podcast is entitled The Voyage. And 'voyage' is a particularly apt term: I have just finished rewriting the beginning of this particular short story for the fourth time. Yes, the fourth.

In the case of every rewrite -- once the flaws were pointed out to me, or leapt out at me -- it was a necessity.
